Frequently Asked Questions
Is the exhibit hall open on Friday, so I can shop?
No, Friday is the set-up day for our vendors. Only classes are available on Friday.
What can/can’t I bring to the event?
No food or beverage is allowed to be brought into the John S. Knight Center building.
Are there on-site concessions?
Yes, there is on-site concessions on the main level and in the exhibit hall.
Where can I park?
The John S. Knight Center is connected by the Skywalk to a parking deck on South Broadway St. Downtown Akron also has plenty of surface lots, parking decks, and meters to park at while you attend an event at the convention center. For a map and list of rates, visit our parking page here. Handicapped accessible parking is available at the parking on South Broadway St., connected to our building by the Skywalk.
Is there an ATM machine? Yes, there is an ATM machine located just inside the main entrance doors.
Is Wi-Fi available? Yes, free public Wi-Fi is available, look for John S. Knight Center Guest.
Do you have wheelchairs?
Yes, the John S. Knight Center has standard size wheelchairs available on a first-come, first-served basis. Wheelchairs can be requested in the main lobby of the Lower Rotunda.
What is your class cancellation policy?
Cancellation of any class more than 30 days prior to the class date will receive a full refund, less a $10 service fee. All cancellation requests must be made in writing. No refunds will be made if a class is cancelled less than 30 days prior to the class. Sometimes a class has to be cancelled if there are not enough students registered. If this should happen, you will have the option to take another class (if available) or receive a total refund of the class fee.
Can I register for classes on-site the day of the class? Yes, if the class is still open, you can register at the class registration table next to admissions. We only accept CASH payment for on-site registrations (class & admissions).
