“Oh, Lonesome Me!”

Instructor: Tonya Weakley (Peddlers Den)

This advanced class features masking, dragging/blending ink, and highlighting. You will build the scene, stamp and cut your masks, and “paint” the scene using Makin’ A Scene blending ovals (provided) with Colorbox or Memory Essentials stylus (not provided in the class kit). Your class kit will include all of the stamps for you to keep, blending ovals, eclipse tape for your masks, full color illustrated instructions, and papers to assemble your card. Assembly can be done in class or later.

Level of experience: Advanced

Supplies to bring to class: Participants must bring their own acrylic blocks. We recommend a large (3”x6” approx. as 2 stamps are slightly longer than 5”) and a small (2”x2” min.) block. Participants must bring their own inks. We recommend a black memories ink pad, as well as dye-based ink colors that you wish to use. Our sample uses the following Makin’ A Scene inks: Robin Egg Blue, Yorktown blue, Midnight blue, Eggplant, and Jungle. You may wish to make your scene less colorful and eliminate the eggplant and jungle colors, resulting in a more monochromatic representation. Additionally, you will need your own stylus handle(s), a white gel pen, scissors, and adhesive.

All supplies are available for pre-order from Peddlers Den. If you have questions about the suitability of supplies you already own, please contact Tonya Weakley of Peddlers Den at 630-862-8497 or tonya@peddlersden.com

Technique Express—We only have 2 hours, but we are going to make SEVEN cards featuring a variety of techniques. This class is packed with tips and tricks to add to your stamping repertoire. All class participants will receive a 10% discount at their booth.

Our in-person class time is just two hours, but learning continues when the class is over. My experience when taking classes is you get a ton of information thrown at you. When you get home, it is difficult to remember it all. Each class participant will get access to videos with reminders of key information, so they can recreate the techniques at home. I will do a lot of prep work, so we can get the most out of class time.

Our class time will focus on:

– Learning to alter our stamps to make them more versatile

– Creating an immersion card with floating elements

– Using vellum with stencils
